Where can I run commercial samples on Protasis CapNMR Probes?

Novatia is the only contract NMR laboratory that offers high sensitivity (microgram to nanogram scale) NMR contract analysis specifically designed for:

  • natural product and other isolation chemists
  • synthetic chemists (especially where synthesis is multistep and low yield)
  • chemists & biologists with limited sample supply

If you are familiar with the sensitivity limits of NMR, you’ll recognize the results below are on impressively small amounts of material for routine NMR work. The figures below show example results obtained at 500 MHz. More examples of Novatia’s trace NMR analysis using CapNMR are also available. Novatia offers two routes to our NMR services: “data only”, where we collect the data and you do the spectral interpretation, or “data plus”, where we provide partial or full interpretation.

For example, our system enables routine 1H proton data to be collected on as little as 500 ng in less than 1 hour. The figure on the right shows the spectrum of 200 ng (1.5 nmol) of histidine collected in 50 minutes on a 500 MHz instrument. Histidine resonances are visible at 7.5, 7, 4.8 and a pair at 3 ppm. Data were collected in 90:10 D2O:dACN. Additional resonances are due to protonated solvents and impurities.

2D 1H-13C Correlation Spectra on micrograms

1H-13C 2D correlation experiments (e.g., HSQC, HMBC) provide critical structure elucidation and conformation data allowing for complete and unambiguous structure determination of compounds. Novatia’s High Sensitivity NMR package also includes the ability to get these important data sets on as little as a few micrograms of material. The figure on the right on shows the 1H-13C HMQC data obtained on 15 micrograms (50 nmol) of sucrose in 14 hours at 500 MHz.
